Athlete’s have been stepping up their game- off the court. Their wardrobe as they enter an arena before a game is more of a spotlight that the actual game. Beats by Dr. Dre recognized that and gave each Super Bowl player a  $25,000 diamond encrusted headphones. The players wore the headphones as they entered the arena. Instead of paying for a hefty commercial spot during time outs- they played their commercial center stage, during the game.

Forbes: Beats By Dr. Dre. Not that the company launched by hip-hop’s third-richest man needed more help, but Dr. Dre’s spot with Kendrick Lamar helped give Beats a nice Super Bowl boost. More telling, however, was the fact that just about every player photographed before the game happened to be wearing Beats headphones. That’s the kind of advertising you can’t buy with a one-off $4 million splurge.
